Mission in Thailand
Mission in Thailand
Why Thailand? - My Testimony and Calling to Thailand
I have always felt a strong pull from the Lord to go out into Asia. This deep longing began a long time ago and has never faded. Over a year and four months ago, in a room with four or five people, a prophetic word was spoken over me by a pastor I love from Guyana. He declared that I would go to Bangkok. At first, I didn’t give it much thought, but my heart was on fire to be involved in missions, no matter where God led me.
A few months passed, and I began praying earnestly, telling God that I would go wherever He sent me. “Send me out, and I will go,” I prayed. At that time, I had a very promising career in the hospitality industry. One day, while playing gospel music with the office ladies at my desk, I began praying at work. In that moment, I felt a strange tug at my heart, as if the Holy Spirit was realigning my very thoughts. It was as if God was pressing on my heart, “This is not where I want you; you will leave here soon.”
That night, I bowed in prayer, asking God why I would have to leave. I had a highly respected position, almost like royalty in that company, being personally mentored by a company Vice President. But God was making it clear that I was being called elsewhere. Though it seemed crazy at first, I trusted that my God knows best.
The weekend passed, and I was still in shock, sharing my experience with those I trust. Three days later, back at work, something remarkable happened—three different individuals approached me with unexpected job opportunities. One even offered me money to start my own business. Taken aback, I gathered their information and brought it to prayer. I asked the Lord to provide me with a job where I could have the greatest impact on the lost.
The next day, I continued in prayer. That night, during a large Bible study with 50+ people, I met someone who would later become a close friend and mentor—Jay Brown. After the study, I stayed late, listening as he spoke to another individual about his work. As he spoke, I felt a strong pull in that direction. I lingered in the church lobby until most people had left. Before parting, Jay mentioned that if I was interested, I should reach out—he manages one of their firm offices.
I continued to pray, and deep down, I knew this was where God was leading me. Before I knew it, I was sitting in an interview with the company’s owners. Right before that interview, I prayed boldly, asking God to make me a roaring lion for Him—to take back the territory that belongs to the Lord. When I looked up at the sky, I saw a massive cloud in the shape of a roaring lion staring back at me.
Looking back, I now recognize that my previous job would never have allowed me the freedom to pursue missions. But the job I have now does—it enables me to labor both in business and in God’s harvest. Just as Paul was a tentmaker, I run a business while preparing for the mission field.
Recently, my prayers have led me to believe that the time has come. Not even a week ago, I met a strong Thai believer who has family near Bangkok—family she prays will find God. And now, the first organization I’m connecting with to establish my mission in Thailand is based in Bangkok.
I share this to say: just as David was anointed but had to wait for his appointed time as king, if God has called you, it is only a matter of time before it will come to pass. We serve a sovereign, all-knowing King of Kings. If He has set you apart for His purpose, trust that He will bring it to fulfillment in His perfect timing.

Promise and Purpose - Short Bible Lesson
I wanted to write a short lesson on how, as people of faith, we are given the promises and blessings of Abraham. What could be more fitting for a missionary named Abraham!
I am reminded of Genesis 12:3, when Abraham was given a promise to impact nations. He was a man called into a foreign land, relying on faith alone. I can only pray that on this trip, many in turn will also receive the Lord’s blessing.
"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3
The blessings of Abraham are given to those who put their trust in Jesus. Galatians 3:7-9 teaches that through Jesus, "the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith." These blessings are this: by our faith in Christ alone, we are made righteous: Genesis 15:6, Galatians 3:6. We are grafted into the tree of life to receive all the promises of God: Romans 8:17, Galatians 3:26. The completed work on the cross gave us the Holy Spirit: Galatians 3:14. Just as the Lord provided a lamb for Abraham to sacrifice, He provides the same in Christ to overcome sin and grant us eternal provision Genesis 22:14, Philippians 4:19. The eternal inheritance we await is a heavenly city prepared by our God Hebrews 11:9-10, Ephesians 1:11.
At the moment I will be walking in faith like Abraham that his blessing may bless all the lives of those in Thailand.
